This [anti-blackness in the British Muslim community] survey is important for African and African Caribbean Muslims UK wide to get more involved in proactive activism. We need to challenge a deep rooted racism against Black Muslims in the UK among other so called Muslim communities. They cry Islamaphobia but they are more racist then Britain is Islamaphobic. We cannot allow these fascist so called ‘Muslims organisations’ who have no respect or acknowledgement of Black British Muslims to speak or act on our behalf. As a people we need to challenge racism in the Mosque, the Madrassah’s, the institutions, Muslim media organisations and so called charities. This is for our generation, our kids and our future. Hopefully this can spark change.
The survey created by the Black Muslim Forum is one that is very much needed and important not only for us Black Muslims but for the wider community. In a world where our voices are often silenced it is important that we have an organisation that focuses on hearing our voices, taking them in and putting them out there for the rest of the community to hear.
